Overview

Adventure is out there waiting for all of us, and yet there are barriers that keep us from having the opportunity to experience it. We seek to change that — on so many levels. Having access to the outdoors in an environment where you feel safe, empowered, seen, and celebrated is a game-changer, especially for those of us who may have felt uncomfortable, unprepared, or unwelcome in the outdoors. To build confidence, we have made it our mission to prioritize learning outdoors skills on our retreats. We embrace nature as our classroom, leading with compassion. To build a safe environment, we focus on providing affirming and supportive spaces for women to learn and explore in the outdoors, and create experiences that encourage fun, laughter and friendship. To build community, we welcome women of all ages, race, size, background, and experience levels, and welcome participants of all gender identities and expressions who feel that a women’s retreat is the right space for them. Our Escape weekend takes us to Bend, OR over Mother's Day Weekend where we’ll say goodbye to winter and welcome Spring with weather just right for hiking, biking, climbing and more. Warm days and cool nights will provide the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy a town famous for its recreation opportunities and beauty. There is a good reason Bend has been dubbed the outdoor playground of the West, and we are excited for you to experience it for yourself.

FAQs

Yes! About 60% of our attendees sign up solo and leave with new adventure buddies! We host pre-event calls and Zoom meetups to connect women before we arrive and we also encourage you to connect via our private FB group.

You can view the schedule here:

Please keep in mind that we have created this schedule a year in advance of the event and some changes may be necessary prior the Escape. Don't worry fu some classes show as full - we like to keep the classes small but we can often add spots to classes as needed. If you are interested in winter activities we highly recommend joining us at our Winter Escape!

Check-in will be open from 4pm-7:30pm on Thursday night and our official welcoming happens at 7:30pm. If you are arriving after this time email us to arrange an alternative check-in option.

Yes, and it is free. You can also look into taking a shuttle from the Airport. We will provide travel recommendations in the attendee planning docs.

Activities for our event weekend will end on Sunday around 1pm. Room check out will be at 11am. Please plan your travel after 2pm to allow you to stay until the end of the event. Consider extending your stay to enjoy the area for a bit longer with a discounted rate!

You must be 18 years and older to attend.

Our standard cancellation charges are set out below:

  • 61days or more before travel: Full refund minus a 15% cancellation fee based on the full trip amount;
  • 31-60 days before travel: 50% of total booking price will be refunded;
  • 30 - 0 days before travel: No refunds, no exceptions.

Scheduling of guides, permits, class locations, food planning, goodie bags, and all the little things that make our events great get finalized manually. Our cancellation policy ensures the best possible experience for everyone.

We strongly recommend purchasing Cancel For Any Reason coverage as part of your travel insurance policy.

Currently we have no specific COVID protocols in place. However, the pandemic continues to be a dynamic situation that is evolving, as such we reserve the right to change our policies as new information becomes available. Additional details can be found here.
