Overview

Take advantage of Presidents' Day and the 3-day weekend by joining us for weekend of winter fun! Our Winter Escape weekend takes us to Sisters, OR where we’ll play in a winter wonderland while snowshoeing, nordic skiing, hiking, and more. Our winter retreat is nestled in the forest on the shores of Suttle Lake. The location provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a winter retreat surrounded by recreation opportunities and beauty. Sisters is conveniently located just 45 minutes from the Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) and about 2.5 hours from Portland International Airport (PDX). You are able to create a custom schedule based on what you want to do, choosing from a variety of activities. Some of the classes are half day (4 hours) and others are 2-3 hours. Class registration opens 6-8 weeks prior to your event weekend. No prior experience is needed to attend this weekend. Please note that weather and snow conditions will factor into our final schedule of activities.

DRIVING IN?

DRIVING IN?

Before you hit the road, we recommend taking a look at Trip Check, for timely updates on the routes to get here. We also recommend an AWD vehicle if possible. If you are coming from the Salem area, we are about 7 miles past the Hoodoo Ski area and 4 miles before Camp Sherman. If you are coming from the Bend or Sisters area we are about 4 miles past the Camp Sherman turn off. Curious about the weather? Camp Sherman is the closest weather reporting station.

Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) is the closest airport and is about 45 minutes away. You can also fly into Portland International Airport (PDX) which is approximately 2.5 hours away. Shuttle Oregon provides shuttle options from RDM.

Tucked into the Deschutes National Forest, the historic Suttle Lodge & Boathouse sits on the shore of Suttle Lake. Surrounded by incredible forested grounds and beaches that are stunning at any season, Suttle Lodge is — dare we say it — pretty magical.


Lodging is not included with registration. We have a block of rooms held and once you register you will receive a link to our room block where you can book your room directly with Suttle. The various rooms types are listed below. We highly recommend connecting with friends or other attendees and sharing a cabin. We will help connect folks!

Yes! Over 60% of attendees sign up on their own and leave with a whole new group of like-minded adventure friends!

Check-in will be open from 4pm-9pm on Friday night and our official welcoming happens at 7:30pm. If you are arriving after this time email us to arrange an alternative check-in option.

Activities for our event weekend will end on Monday around 11am. Room check out will be at 11am. Please plan your travel to allow you to stay until the end of the event

Our Winter Escape does not have a camping option, but the rustic cabins offer an affordable winter option.

Yes, and it is free. You can also look into taking a shuttle from the Airport. We will provide travel recommendations in the attendee planning docs.

You must be 18 years and older to attend.

Our standard cancellation charges are set out below:

  • 61 days or more before travel: Full refund minus a 15% cancellation fee based on the full trip amount;
  • 31-60 days before travel: 50% of total booking price will be refunded;
  • 30 - 0 days before travel: No refunds, no exceptions.

Any refund shall be made less any platform, transaction and processing fees that have been incurred.

To ensure your experience is unforgettable much of our planning is finalized in the months leading up to your trip. Scheduling of guides, permits, class locations, food planning, goodie bags, and all the little things that make our events great get finalized manually. 

Cancellations within the 60-day window incur costs that we cannot recoup. Last minute cancellations within 30 days are even harder as we often cannot fill the vacated spot on short notice. Our cancellation policy ensures the best possible experience for everyone.

We strongly recommend purchasing Cancel For Any Reason coverage as part of your travel insurance policy.
